The Hallmark for 22 carat gold is 916

The hallmark on 22 carat gold is to denote that the item contains at least 91.6% fine gold.
The United Kingdom Assay Office wil stamp a 916 hallmark on the gold item with 91.6% fine gold, whilst abroad it is common practice to just put "22k" or "22ct".


Please be aware there are many items being sold on the black market with 22k or 22ct which are not gold.
These jewelery items are normaly made from brass alloys.
