"We" and "us" means SGB Gold
"You" means the person placing an order.
"The contract is agreed" - by completing and submitting an electronic order form, you are making an offer to purchase goods which, if accepted by us, will result in a binding contract - See Ordering process below.
"Working days" excludes Saturdays, Sundays and English statutory and public holidays.

Ordering, cancelling before dispatch and returning after dispatch.
Ordering.
By completing and submitting an electronic order form, you are making an offer to purchase goods, which, if accepted by us, will result in a binding contract.
Orders will only be dispatched once we have authorization from your payment card issuer. We will not be liable if there is a delay, and we will not accept your order if payment is not authorised.
Certain steps must be followed for a contract to be formed, as described below.
After you have placed your order:
1. We will send you, as soon as possible, an email to acknowledge your order. It will confirm which goods you have ordered. This email is not an order acceptance from us.
2. When we dispatch your goods from the warehouse, we will send you a confirmation email. This email constitutes a formal acceptance of your order by us. This also means that a contract between us is agreed and we are obliged to fulfill our obligations under this contract.
We do not have to accept your order, and for example, we will not accept your order if:
• We do not have the goods in stock
• Your payment is not authorised
• There is an error on our website regarding the price or other details of the goods
• You have cancelled it in accordance with the instructions below
We reserve the right to refuse any order.
Cancelling an order before dispatch.
If you change your mind after placing an order, you can cancel it at any time before we dispatch it. Please see the Contact us page for our telephone number. You will need to give us your name and address details, as well as your order number to cancel your order.
Returning goods after dispatch
Cooling off period
When you order from us online, you are entitled to a cooling off period after dispatch, when you can return your goods without any penalty. Our cooling off period is 7 days, which includes any statutory cooling off period.
This period starts the day the contract is agreed (i.e. you receive an email from us saying we have dispatched your order) and ends 7 days after the day following delivery of the goods.
Returning goods.
Please refer to our Returns & Exchanges page for details of how and where to return goods.
If you wish to return goods you have a duty to keep them in your possession and to take reasonable care of them until you return them. Returns costs are at your expense, unless faulty, and we recommend using a fully tracked and insured service. Goods must be returned in their original condition, with tags still in situ, including immediate packaging, within the cooling off period.
We accept refunds or exchanges of pierced items in original packaging. If you would like to return your purchase please ensure the plastic bag containing your order remains sealed. If the items have been removed from the bag or if the bag has been tampered with, we cannot refund or exchange the item due to hygiene reasons.
Our returns policy does not affect your statutory rights.
For further information on your statutory rights look at www.consumerdirect.gov.uk.

We are unfortunately unable to dispatch goods to addresses outside the UK, or in the Channel Islands.

While we make every effort to ensure that the goods shown on our website are currently available at the price shown on the website, we cannot guarantee that this will always be the case. If goods you have ordered online are unavailable, you will be notified as soon as possible.
If a pricing error is made on our website or in the ordering process we will inform you as soon as possible and give you the option of buying the goods at the correct price or cancelling the order. Your order will be cancelled if we cannot get in contact with you to notify you of the error.
Your payment card will be debited for your order on the day that we dispatch your goods.

Borrow.
SGB Gold provisional offer is based on the original pledge description received from the customer. SGB Gold values the pledge in good faith, according to accepted industry standards and prevailing market rates, and on the assumption that the description provided by the customer is completely accurate.
On receiving the pledge from the customer, SGB Gold inspects the pledge, and compares the actual pledge to the original description supplied by the customer, in order to confirm they match.
Should a pledge prove to vary from the original description in a manner which affects the valuation, SGB Gold reserves the right to adjust the loan offer either upwards (in the case of higher actual quality compared with original description) or downwards (in the case of lower actual quality compared with original description).
Confirmed offers are contracted between the customer and SGB Gold.
In order to set up the loan, SGB Gold may require proof of the customer’s identity, which must be a copy of photo ID (e.g. passport, national identity card or driving license), and documentation verifying the customer’s current mailing address (e.g. a utility bill, council tax bill or bank statement less than three months old).
Loan contracts between SGB Gold and the customer are not legally binding until after we inspect the pledge, make a revised, and, if necessary adjusted offer, and the customer confirms via e-mail that they have read, understood and agreed the contract on offer.
All loans will run for Twenty Eight (28) days, with interest charged daily.
A redemption fee to cover postage will be charged at the end of the contract in addition to the loan value and any interest accrued. The redemption fee will be clearly stated in the loan balance. The redemption fee is a one-off charge, is not part of the loan and will not accrue interest.
To redeem a pledge, the customer pays off all outstanding charges – the redemption fee, the loan value plus all interest charges – at any point of their loan term.
The customer can redeem their pledge before the end of the contract by paying off the redemption fee; the loan value and any interest accrued to the date of redemption. Interest owed is calculated on a daily basis; part days are charged as full days. No other charges will be due.
Should a loan not be extended or paid off with interest within the 28-day loan period, the customer will be informed in writing of the intention to sell. The goods will then become the full property of SGB Gold.
All loan costs are accompanied by an APR quote.
Should the customer decline the confirmed offer, SGB Gold reserves the right to request the customer to settle any shipping costs incurred by SGB Gold in shipping the pledge from and back to the customer.
Sell.
Requirements for Use
Customer must be at least eighteen (18) years of age in order to conduct a SGB Gold transaction. In addition, every customer of SGB Gold must be the actual owner of any and all property sold or attempting to be sold to SGB Gold.
The customer must be acting on his or her own behalf and not as the agent or representative of another person.
Online / Verbal Quotation.
All valuations are subject to the Gold being weighed and tested by us.
Gold Valuations.
Providing the final valuation does not differ by more or less than 10% of our initial quotation, payment will be automatically made using the customer's preferred payment method. Valuations are based on the published Gold price the day we receive the gold.
If however the final valuation differs by more or less than 10% of the initial quote, authorization will be sought before payment is made.
SGB Gold reserves the right to return gold to the customer.
Gold Testing.
It is important to note the items may become tarnished where testing takes place.
Such tarnishing is however superficial and can be polished out.
In some circumstances, it may be necessary to scrape a very small sample of metal from the item.
If this occurs, we will always do our best to ensure this is done on an area of the item that is not usually visible. Also any non Gold, stones etc., will be removed prior to weighing.
If, following testing, we determine an item is not Gold, it will be returned to the customer using Royal Mail Recorded Delivery.
Deliveries.
SGB Gold will not be held liable for any loss or damage to items whilst in transit to us. Please therefore ensure that you obtain a receipt from the Post Office for your pre-paid Royal Mail Special Delivery envelope. All envelopes are insured for £500.00, should you require further insurance please ask when you send your envelope at the Post Office.
If you are not using our pre-paid envelope please ensure you use an insured, traceable service.
SGB Gold reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject delivery of any mail, envelope or package, which appears to be damaged, opened, or tampered with and any such mail, envelope or package will be returned by the post office to the customer.
SGB Gold shall have no liability to any customer for any such attempted delivery or return of any such items.
